Do you have that one BIG project you continue to push to the side due to overthinking the process? Maybe it is launching your brand, starting your own business, writing a book, or even all of the above. This is something I can totally relate to doing – overthinking. Many times, we delay the process due to fear.
In my transparency, I should have started my brand sooner than I did. Why Cam? I’ll tell you. I was so focused on what I did not have. I was worried about not having a fancy website, not having business cards, not having the money, and not having those major connections. I was so focused on what I didn’t have, I failed to see what I did have. God connected me with a group of friends that threw the towel back at me when I threw it in. They saw more in me during a time I could not see my own potential. I still struggle with overthinking things I desire to accomplish. Even as I write this article, there is a project I have been working on and the sole reason I have not completed it because of two reasons: 1) I worry about what others will say 2) I am overthinking the entire process. The advice I give to not only you but myself is “just start”. Don’t worry about what you lack or what you don’t know. Just start.
Every brand I have ever developed began with no money, no website, no business cards, and only one pair of lashes. Nearly four years later, what began as one pair of lashes has blossomed into an entire collection of beauty essentials, a blog, and a podcast. During the process, God began to connect me with people that had the information I needed and opened doors I never thought about entering. This is only the beginning for you. But, you to begin. Just start the process, be consistent, and be open the journey ahead. God will answer your prayers and surprise you with things you haven’t even prayed for yet!
